Description:
The project works in the area around the Duero border (Iberian Plateau Biosphere Reserve), promoting the eco-efficiency of landscape, cultural and heritage resources as well as the protection of agro-ecosystems. The project has developed cartography (“GIS viewer” tool), educational and recreational tools (the “Goose Game”) and has encouraged the reproduction of traditional practices, as a basis for endogenous development and local markets, all of this encouraging the participation of the local population. One example of its actions is the development of a methodology and parameters aimed at creating an ecotourism model that has highlighted several cases of good practice on both sides of the border.
Among the stories highlighted within the scope of the project is that of Inés, “the last goatherd”, protagonist in the “Iberian Stories” of Agencia EFE and LUSA and in the POCTEP video awarded in the Project Slam 2021.
General Objective:
To promote the eco-efficiency of cultural and heritage landscape resources as well as the protection of agro-ecosystems in the area around the border of the Duero (Iberian Plateau Biosphere Reserve Area).
To document the landscapes of the Iberian Plateau as a spatial experience of the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.
To investigate the potentialities and risks of the dynamics and trends of these landscapes, signifying their strategic condition for network cooperation and the sustainable development of this territory.
SO3.- To promote the local transfer of landscape management strategies and their dissemination at regional and international level.
