Estudo da situação e potencialidades turísticas da Comunidade Intermunicipal de Terras de Trás-os-Montes: Mirandela, Macedo de Cavaleiros e Bragança (Concluded Project)

Description:

In this report we present a prospective analysis of the tourism situation in Trás-os-Montes, with special emphasis on the municipalities of Mirandela, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Bragança. The report follows a request from the Eixo Atlántico do Noroeste Peninsular and tries to respond to the needs of the municipalities to affirm themselves in the development of tourism.
It was decided at the aforementioned meeting to update the strategic agenda for tourism based on a synthetic diagnosis of the situation, in order to subsequently design a joint strategy for developing tourism in the region.
At this meeting essential ideas were pointed out for the construction of this strategic report:

• Underline what is important for the municipalities in terms of tourism;
• Build a scientific vision of tourism, structured and coherent, which will allow justifying a medium-long term strategy (2030);
• Analyse what the territory wants and needs (“we have to look at this as it should be, which has not been done so far”, Hernâni Dias, Mayor of Bragança);
• Mirandela, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Bragança will serve in the report as anchor municipalities framed in the CIM and in other Iberian and European territorial scopes.
