Research Group:
Marcelo G. Oliveira is Associate Professor at Universidade Europeia’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology and a member of the University’s Scientific and Pedagogical Councils. He was Interim Director of the University’s former Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, and coordinated the Tourism and Hospitality Management undergraduate programme in English from 2020 to 2023. As Principal Investigator, he coordinated the “Cultural Memories and Tourism Promotion” project (2016-2017), and is presently coordinating the project “Unhappy Hosts? A Post-Pandemic View of the Sociocultural Impacts of Tourism in Central Historic Districts of Lisbon and Barcelona”, both funded by Universidade Europeia. His main research interests in the area of tourism are cultural and literary tourism, tourism promotion and sociocultural sustainability.
