Mafalda Patuleia has a PhD in Tourism from the Faculty of Economics at the University of the Algarve. She is head of the Tourism Department at the Lusรณfona University. She is also a researcher with interests in tourism destinations and hotel management. She has over 23 years of teaching experience and has produced research in the areas of creative tourism, lifestyle entrepreneurs, second homes and competitiveness of tourism destinations, including book chapters, papers in academic journals and conference proceedings, case studies and working papers. She is married and has a daughter. Her main hobby is travelling, and she’s been to over 40 countries.

Desde 2022 – Coordenaรงรฃo Projecto Slow Food Movement 2021-2-NO02-KA220-YOU-000050464

Entre outros objetivos, este projeto pretende investigar como o movimento Slow Food une os valores alimentares e culturais, por forma a apresentar soluรงรตes para a preservaรงรฃo do patrimรณnio alimentar-cultural. Cabe ร  Universidade Lusรณfona, atravรฉs de metodologias quantitativas apresentar um estudo sobre a temรกtica e apresentar os resultados obtidos no evento final.

Desde 2021 – Membro da equipa de Investigaรงรฃo do LEO โ€“ Observatรณrio de Empreendedorismo de Estilo de Vida, em parceria com a Universidade de Sevilha, a Confederaรงรฃo do Turismo de Portugal, o NEST e o Turismo de Portugal. No รขmbito deste Observatรณrio pretende-se numa primeira fase analisar fatores como a Inovaรงรฃo, o empreendedorismo e a competitividade no turismo para apresentar uma proposta de um ecossistema de inovaรงรฃo nas micro e pequenas empresas de turismo.

-Desde 2020 – Estudo participativo sobre fatores de competitividade e gestรฃo da performance na hotelaria em Portugal, financiado pela ADHP- Associaรงรฃo dos Diretores de Hotel de Portugal.

-2018 e 2019 โ€“ Barรณmetro do Alojamento Local em Portugal, financiado pela HomeWay. Estudo descritivo de uma amostra de utilizadores de alojamento local residentes em Portugal.
