José Massuça is a doctoral student of the Agribusiness and Sustainability programme offered by the joint doctoral programme of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and the University of Évora (UÉ), Portugal.
He has a BSc in Statistics and Information Management (UNL, Portugal) and a MSc in Geographical Information Systems (Univ. Edinburgh, UK). His main research field is sustainable development, with emphasis on social sustainability assessment, management and planning at the wine industry.
Author and co-author of various scientific publications related to the social sustainability of the wine agribusiness, like scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.
His PhD project focuses on a collaborative identification and assessment of the most appropriate social sustainability indicators identified by the wine agribusiness stakeholders, to subsequently incorporate them on a holistic sustainable assessment tool.
