On the 24th of October, CETRAD also joined the celebration of the International Regional Information Day aiming to raise awareness of the importance of regional information for local development. CETRAD’s team organised an event entitled “Green Transition and Regional Well-being in the Interior of Portugal: the Perspectives of the Local Stakeholders” at UTAD. The roundtable included several residents and representatives of civil organisations voicing their concerns about being heard and understood. For example, local farmers from Barroso described their daily battle for being considered in the decision to extend or halt lithium mining in the region. They stressed that green transition and sustainable development should be just, and development initiatives should consider the perspectives (information) from all sides.
